This simple girder bridge crosses a small stream at the point where it flows into the Mississippi River.
Built in 1913, the bridge is set next to the Fort Madison Bridge in Fort Madison, near the State Prison.
This structure is simply constructed with a single through girder span, and concrete slab spans approaching on either end. It is set onto concrete substructures. It is anticipated that the bridge was built during 1931, likely to replace an older wooden trestle.
The author has ranked the bridge as locally significant due to the common design, despite the acceptable condition of the bridge.
